Just another family fun Sunday! With a new pallet project of course!

Ok so I know people have become utterly obsessed with pallets since Pinterest has become so huge!!! I have been using pallets for years now, but Pinterest has definitely given me some more inspiration when it come to my pallet project obsession!!!  I haven’t seen anybody do a garden with a pallet yet, and I had a few left over from the last project so… why not!!!

Alexia has discovered her “Green Thumb” so to speak.  Grandma & Grandpa sent her a few packs of seeds for Easter and while we were out getting some Dollar Store planters we got some more seeds for her!!!  I know I give my feedback on everything, but this was just completed yesterday, so I guess the true opinion will be in a few months after wear and tear from nature to see how this baby really holds up.  For now I thought some of you would love a new pallet project to try with your little ones… here ya go!

You will need:

  • Pallet (1 pallet per garden, so as many as you want to make)
  • Crow Bar
  • Saw
  • Paint & Brushes
  • Hammer
  • Nails
  • Newspaper
  • Plastic Bag (we used a garbage bag)
  • Potting Soil
  • Seeds
  • Water
We started by removing the boards on one side of the pallet with a crow bar (PLEASE BE CAREFUL AS OLD AND POSSIBLY RUSTY NAILS ARE INVOLVED).  Then we took the saw and removed on of the 3 sections to use as the fence.  Using the pieces that were removed from the side you disassembled nail onto pallet in order to form a box (all side should have a wall now).
Place plastic bag down and poke many holes for water drainage then layer with newspaper and fill with soil.  Have your kids, or yourself, plant the seeds and WATER!!!
Now get the fence part you cut from the pallet and, if you would like paint! Once the fence has dried nail (with bracing beam on the bottom) to your garden.
Step back and enjoy your new pallet garden!!!
As always… please comment and if you have any other pallet ideas I would love to try them out as I am ALWAYS looking for new pallet projects!!! Don’t forget to subscribe for more fun projects, tips & tricks ❤
